Hanson, 69, Parker attorney who had a brilliant career as a lawyer, public servant and bus line partner despite crippling polio, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian church here. The Rev. Maurice Hildahl, Beresford pastor, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery. Mr. Hanson, who died Thursday at Rochester, Minn., from cancer of the throat, was a partner in the Jack Rabbit Bus Lines with his nephew, Lowell C. Hanson, Sioux Falls, from 1925 to 1947. Confined to wheel chair he was born on a farm near Vyborg in Turner County. He never walked after a polio attack as a young boy, and spent the rest of his life in a wheel chair. But Mr. Hanson was graduated from the University of South Dakota and took a two-year postgraduate course at the University of Minnesota. In 1902 he became Turner County Clerk and served five terms. Later he was States Attorney for seven and a half years. During his practice he was associated with the late Judge L. L. Fleeger. Had Large Practice Mr. Hanson built up a large practice, and was recognized as a formidable courtroom adversary. He had large land holdings and was noted for his philanthropies. He is survived by his second wife, the former Mary Williams of Parker, whom he married in 1932; two brothers, E. E. Hanson, Henry, S. D., sister, Mrs. C. W. Anderson, Sioux Falls. Pallbearers will be F. R. Cotton, L. L. Long, V. B. Clikeman, Warren Chase, Ed G. Hanson, and Charles Dana. All of Parker. Dan Hanson obituary Dan Hanson: Dan Hanson, Parker attorney and public servant, was a splendid example of what courage and persistence can accomplish.
