[12253] Carol Mitchell in Bell-Southerland Notes, January, 2001 Joseph's will: "Item I lovingly bequeath to Cisley Bell daughter of mydaughter Ann Bell a negro boy named Billy to her and her heirs foreverbut my will is that my said daughter Ann should have all the profits ofsaid boy as long as she lives" and "I give and bequeath unto mygranddaughter Cisley Bell daughter of my daughter Ann one part to her andher heirs forever but it is my will that my daughter Ann should have theprofit of said part as long as she lives" Torrance in Winstons of VA, p. 401: "In 1802 Joseph Southerland ofLouisa County conveyed to his grand-daughter, Cecelia Fendall Bell,daughter of Nancy Bell, and all the rest of the children she (ie, NancyBell) may have hereafter, on negro girl named Tulip. The trustees namedin this deed were John M. Southerland, Fendall Southerland and JohnWhitworth. Jenney (Jane?) Southerland was a witness to the conveyance."At same time as John M.
