[11372] Clarence and his wife live in Hartford, Wisconsin. When Clarence was 7 years old, his parents moved to Golden Corners, whenWilliam and Anna Backhaus moved on the farm. Then 3 years later theymoved back when William and Anna bought their own farm in Kewaskum.Clarence worked on the homestead, helped on neighboring farms and trappedanimals in nearby woodlands and creeks. He then sold the skins formoney. He also walked 2 miles to school each day and even in winter.
[11373] Harley and his brother, Wilbur never married. They lived together on afarm in Wayne, Wisconsin and raised peacocks all of their lives. When William Christian and Anna (Scheid) Backhaus got married, they livedon this farm for a few years until they bought their own farm inKewaskum. Harley and Wilbur also used to deliver milk.
