[377] Her husband's name is given in her obituary, apparently from the Paducah newspaper.
[350] Based on the family Bible and a hand-written note found among Annie Christy Phelps' papers. Nita May's family address in June 6, 1945 was 100 S Valmar, Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Diuguid Family Bible end leaf appears to have been annotated by two different individuals. It was in 1941 in the possession of Mrs. Harry B. (Anita May Christy) Houck as certified by a Social Security Board Form OA-C 703, "Statement of Contents of Family Bible or Other Family Record.." Her sister, Bessie Roberts Christy, was living with her at this time. It is fair to assume the two hands are those of Bessie Christy and Anita May Houck. The publication data cited above has since been lost from the Bible.

[451] [His origin in Tewkesbury is based on information found in the Phelps & Seymour Phelps Family History, since proven to be wrong, as follows.]
By John Plummer
George Phelps was long believed to be the sixth child of William of Tewkesbury, Eng., b. about 1606; immigrated to New England on the Mary and John, in 1630, with his elder brother William and his younger brother Richard. It has since been concluded that the William Phelps of Massachusetts and Connecticut originated in Crewkerne, Somersetshire, England and that he is not the William Phelps of Tewkesbury records. George Phelps is omitted as an immigrant of the Mary and John. although it is conceded that there may have been a relationship between William Phelps and George Phelps, but that it remains unestablished. No evidence exists that Richard Phelps is related to either William or George, although he is present in the earliest records of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
George Phelps is believed to be the George P__?__ aboard the Recovery of London with Gabriel Cornish as its master, sailing from Weymouth in Dorsetshire to New England March 31, 1634. The ship sailed into Massachusetts Bay in late June of July 1634; and it was very likely one of the fourteen said to have arrived that June.

BIOGRAPHY: ... There was also in Windsor, a widow, Frances Clark, name of her husband unknown, who married 22 Mar. 1638/9, Thomas Dewey, and the records of Dewey's estate show that she had one Clark child, also named Mary, who was 12 in 1648, hence born about 1636 and a little older than Joseph Clark's daughter. It was this Mary Clark who married, 26, Nov. 1656, John Strong, Jr., as his first wife. This is proved by two deeds recorded 21 Sept. 1663 in which John Strong called two sons of Thomas and Frances Dewey his "brothers." Hence the first wife of John Strong should have been called daughter of Widow Francis Clark, born about 1636.
BIOGRAPHY: The marraige date of John Strong to his third wife should be corrected from 2 to 26 Nov. 1686. Thus he married her on the thirtieth anniversary of his first marraige.
BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Deweys' will (Hartford Probate Records, Vol I, 1635-1700, pp. 6,7) leaves "Mary Clarke, 12 years old:"..Would seem to indicate that Clarke was the married name of Frances before she m. Thomas Dewey and George Phelps.
[468] Mr Phelps settled in Westfield, Mass., where he died 6 Oct., 1689 in his 40th year. His widow, Dorothy, m. for 2nd husband a Mr. Root.

[2365] William fought in the Battle of Agincourt under the banner of the Duke of Gloucester on October 25, 1415 along side his uncle, Sir Thomas Erpingham. This date marked a stunning victory of the English over the French during the mid-point of the Hundred Years' War. Following an unexpectedly long march in an attempt to find a practicable ford over the Somme, the exhausted invaders of 6000 were caught at Agincourt (Azincourt in the Pas-de-Calais) by a French force numbering between 20,000 and 30,000 men under the constable Charles I d'Albret.
But because of the land and serious tactical errors committed by the French their numerical advantage was forfeited. The English archers led by Sir Thomas Erpingham repelled preliminary attacks by the cavalry and three hours of battle ended in disaster for the French.
It is thought a plague visited the countryside and Margery Drury, her son William, and two of her daughters, Margery and Anne died in 1420. William died March 10, Margery in June, and the two girls both died in October. Plagues were a constant threat, and during the great epidemic plague known as the Black Death of 1348-1949, entire villages disappeared.

From Nancy Verhelst:
I have to re-check the children in this family yet. This does not seemright and with so many people by the same names, and more than onemarriage, etc. it makes it a little more difficult to straighten this out.
From Bernie Backus:
Frank's occupation was a carpenter.
[11341] Amerlia was ill for 6 years before her death. Burial was from LutheranChurch in Oakfield and burial was in the Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield.
[11349]
From Bernie Backus:
He shows that Oscar died on November 3, 1954.
[11301] Rudie died in WW1 shortly after his brother Daniel died. (See newspaperarticle that I found in the Adams House in Fond du Lac, WI). The articlestates that his brother Daniel died just a few days before Rudie did ofpneumonia. It also stated that a third son (name unknown) possibly diedshortly after Rudie after from injuries in the service.
