Phelps & Servin Phelps Family in America
Much of the information on the Phelps family line is based on the two-volume book The Phelps Family of America and Their English Ancestors, (Save $201 by ordering through us.) Two volumes. By Judge Oliver Seymour Phelps and Andrew T. Servin. (Eagle Publishing Company of Pittsfield, Mass., 1899).
These two volumes trace the origin of the original immigrants, William Phelps and his alleged brother George, to America from Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England. Other, more recent, authoritative sources cite William and George's origins about 120 miles (193 km) to the south, in Crewkerne, Somerset, England. I am fortunate to have received an original set of the books from my grandparents.
Bound, glued, softcover reproductions of these books can be obtained at a large discount using our order page. The book is printed on acid-free paper that is rated to last at least 200 years.

These two books may be available from your local LDS Family History Center.
